Dr. Ning Sun is a professor and doctoral advisor at Wuxi Medical School, Jiangnan University. He is a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation for Excellent Young Scientists and was selected for Shanghai's "Outstanding Academic Leader Program." During his tenure at Fudan University, he was awarded the "Top Ten Graduate Advisors" title in 2021 and received the "Outstanding Mentor" award at the 7th National Undergraduate Basic Medical Innovation Research and Experimental Design Forum in 2021. Dr. Sun obtained his Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine from Fudan University in 2000 and his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Iowa State University in 2008. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Cardiovascular and Stem Cell Research Center at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 to 2021, Dr. Sun served as a researcher and deputy director of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Fudan University. Since 2021, he has been a professor at Wuxi Medical School and affiliated hospital, Jiangnan University. Dr. Sun's research primarily focuses on pluripotent stem cell biology, molecular cardiology, and the mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases, as well as the molecular mechanisms of inter-organ communication in traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. He has published over 60 SCI papers in journals such asNature Biomedical Engineering,Science Translational Medicine,Nature Methods,Cell Stem Cell,Nature Communications,Biomaterials, andProtein & Cell, with more than 3,000 citations. Dr. Sun holds two U.S. patents and four Chinese patents, with two granted. He is a council member of the Chinese Society of Physiology's Cardiovascular Committee, the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology's Cardiovascular Committee, and a council member of the Chinese Society of Microcirculation. |
