Jiangnan University Medical Center (the Second People’s Hospital in Wuxi), established in 1908, is a modern comprehensive Grade-A tertiary hospital that integrates medical treatment, scientific research, education, prevention, health care, and rehabilitation. The hospital has achieved a five-level evaluation for national electronic medical records and is certified as an Internet hospital. It has received accolades as one of the first batch of “National People’s Trust Demonstrative Hospitals” and “Advanced Unit in Hospital Cultural Construction”. In 2018, it ranked first among all provincial three-A comprehensive hospitals in Jiangsu Province during a provincial medical service evaluation. The hospital has been recognized with several titles, such as “Demonstration Hospital for High-Quality Services” in the National Health Commission’s 2015-2017 Action Plan for Improving Medical Services, “Demonstration Hospital for Improving Medical Services” by the National Health Commission’s Medical Administration and Management Bureau in 2020, and the “Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery and Orthopedics Pilot Hospital” by the National Health Commission in 2021. The hospital comprises two sites, northern site and southern site, with a total of 1,800 beds.
